Salvador Villa Lobos – Ayahuasca Shaman at Gaia Sagrada Retreat, Ecuador

Hey Everyone, I know I’ve been MIA for the past few weeks on social media, but have been taking my time with travel and the Ayahuasca & San Pedro retreat (Gaia Sagrada) in Ecuador. After my brother left to go back to NY, I took a 4-hour van ride to the quaint southern town of Vilcabamba. Here I did 3 consecutive ceremonies with Kambo medicine (non-hallucinogenic Amazonian frog venom) which was a very strong detoxing / purging experience. I’ve barely had time to process all these experiences and will be using the next 2-weeks for solitude and reflection (more blog & video content to be shared). The environment here is perfect for that as I’m staying in a private cottage surrounded by beautiful mountains, no neighbors and just the sound of the river water running. It’s a 15-min walk + 10-min ride just to get into town.

The other day as I sat by the water and watched the sunset – I did experience a moment of quiet joy, peace and gratitude for all that’s taken place in the past month since leaving Asia. For being surrounded by a constant stream of love from people all over the world (old friends, new friends & family). For having the opportunity to sit in beautifully orchestrated ceremonies with powerful, yet compassionate shamans sharing their songs of healing, traditions & medicines. For being able to drink & absorb wisdom from wise plant teachers. For baring witness to another human’s soul as they share themselves openly and authentically (that takes tremendous courage on their part). For having a sibling join me on this shared experience and to create time-less memories. This has not only been travel in the physical realm, but also inward journeys into the depths of our being. Already my views on life & the human experience have changed for the better. If you want to re-connect your head with your heart and learn about love, empathy, the human bond and what it feels like to be part of a global family, then go and seek out these medicines & experiences. The journey is more than worth it. I just want to say thank you to Gaia Sagrada retreat center, Christine & Bruce, the shamans, the medicines, the work-exchangers and lastly to my soul tribe for doing the inner-work beside me. It’s truly an honor & pleasure to sit with you. ???? I recommend this place for anyone, especially beginners looking to start a relationship with the plant medicines Ayahuasca & San Pedro.
